Nottingham Forest have just one win in eight this season to start the Oliver Glasner era, with mixed feelings about the campaign thus far.
On the one hand, Nottingham Forest are playing really well right now and on paper should be competing at the top of the Premier League in terms of expected points, expected goals and defensively.
However, the flip side of this is Liam Delap’s poor finishing, among others, which has seen winnable games pass Forest by. It leaves Forest still around the relegation fight, despite being in a bit of a false position, but underlying data means nothing unless it starts turning into results.
Now Harry Redknapp has had his say on the relegation race and where Nottingham Forest sit.

What have YOU made about Liam Delap's start to life at Nottingham Forest?! BIG things were expected…
In an interview with FourFourTwo, Harry Redknapp has spoken about plenty of subjects, one of which being the relegation battle, which he sees being really tight, mentioning Forest as a possible candidate for relegation.
“Frank will get the best out of the players, and they can stay up, but it’s going to be tight. Five or six teams are going to be caught up in a dogfight down there. Tottenham aren’t going down. Brighton, Brentford are too good.
“Bournemouth are going to be fine, so really you start to look at Ipswich, Hull and Coventry, the three teams that come up and then maybe Crystal Palace, Fulham, even Nottingham Forest. I just hope Coventry are one of those that can stay up.”
While he may be wrong, considering how better finishing would see Forest fly up the table, as things stand it is tough to argue against Forest being a candidate to go down.
Forest will need to improve quickly to steer away from the drop as we approach the quarter point of the season, but it wouldn’t take much for this to become a distant memory.
Opta are currently predicting Forest will finish 17th in the league on 43 points, but of course if Glasner can get better finishing out of his forwards then this will change drastically.

There is massive gulf between Forest’s results and performance and Glasner needs to narrow this, even just stabilising in mid-table for now would be fine and a platform to build upon.
But he needs to get the relegation fear gone and push Forest away from any conversations.
