D.J. Moore got two games and a bye week to rest his injured shoulder.
The Buffalo Bills still aren’t quite ready to declare him back.
Moore is questionable for Sunday’s Week 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens after practicing on a limited basis throughout the week.
He wore a red non-contact jersey during all three practices. Bills head coach Joe Brady said earlier in the week that sitting Moore against the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders was frustrating for the wide receiver but was the best decision for his long-term health.
The Bills host the Ravens at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at Highmark Stadium.
Here’s the latest on Moore’s status.
D.J. Moore is officially questionable for the Bills’ game against the Ravens.
Moore practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Thursday and Friday while wearing a red non-contact jersey.
Brady said Wednesday that it was good to get Moore back on the field after missing two games.
“It was tough him not playing in those games,” Brady said. “But obviously we know the importance that he brings to our football team to our offense, the toughness, the play-making ability.”
Moore has not played since Buffalo’s Week 4 loss to the New England Patriots.
Prior to this season, Moore had not missed a game since 2020.
“This was new territory for me, so I just had to accept the fact that I had to heal and had to go from there," Moore said this week. "Somebody put out a video, and I was sitting there on the sidelines while we were practicing. We were about to go do routes on air. I was just standing there, like a sad little kid who couldn't go outside with his friends. Those two weeks were like that.”
The Bills will announce their inactive players about 90 minutes before kickoff, which means Moore’s status will become official by 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Moore’s shoulder injury dates back to Buffalo’s Week 2 victory over the Detroit Lions.
He returned the following week against the Los Angeles Chargers but aggravated the injury against New England in Week 4.
Moore was inactive against the Rams in Week 5 and the Raiders in Week 6 before Buffalo’s Week 7 bye.
He participated on a limited basis all three days this week.
Moore has 12 receptions for 178 yards and one touchdown in four games this season.
