Mumbai’s young all-rounder Musheer Khan has delivered a sensational performance against Haryana in the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 clash at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC, Mumbai, on Wednesday (October 28). The 21-year-old Musheer Khan smashed a brilliant century before destroying Haryana’s batting line-up with his left-arm spin in their Elite Group D clash.

Musheer has now entered an exclusive list of Mumbai cricketers who have scored a First-Class hundred and taken at least five wickets in the same match. His incredible all-round show has helped Mumbai take a massive lead and force Haryana to bat again in their Elite Group D clash.

Musheer Khan, Angkrish Raghuvanshi hit centuries to power Mumbai to 430

Musheer Khan first scored 109 runs off 185 balls, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed 114 off 180 balls to power Mumbai to 430 in the first innings in their Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Elite Group D match at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC on Wednesday.

Then, the left-arm spinner turned the game with the ball, taking six wickets for 85 runs in 31 overs as Haryana were bowled out for 270, giving Mumbai a huge first-innings lead of 160 runs. Amid this, Mohammed Siraj set to play for India A in 2nd unofficial Test against New Zealand A.

The youngster removed both Haryana openers Ankit Kumar (35) and Himanshu Rana (27) on Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Elite Group D match. He continued his brilliant attack on Day 3, dismissing Dheeru Singh for 45 to break a 94-run partnership for the third wicket.

Musheer Khan’s six-wicket haul destroys Haryana as Mumbai enforce follow-on

Musheer then sent Yashvardhan Dalal (10) and Parth Vats (6) back to the pavilion before trapping Aman Kumar leg before wicket for a duck to complete his six-wicket haul. Nishant Sindhu fought hard with an unbeaten 105, but he didn’t get any support from the other end, as Haryana suffered a dramatic collapse.

Apart from Musheer, Tanush Kotian (3/70) and Shams Mulani (1/62) also impressed with the ball for Mumbai. Haryana slipped from 238/5 to 239/8, losing three wickets for just one run in eight balls. Mumbai then enforced the follow-on after taking a 160-run lead.

Having already been under pressure, Haryana ended up losing two wickets for 54 runs with Tanush and Musheer each taking one wicket before the stumps on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 Elite Group D match at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC, Mumbai.

Musheer Khan achieves rare double after 35 years

By smashing a century and taking six wickets in Haryana’s first innings in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2026-27 match, Musheer Khan became the first Mumbai player in the 21st century to score a First-Class century and take five wickets in the same match.

Musheer is only the sixth Mumbai all-rounder to achieve this rare double in the Ranji Trophy. The last Mumbai player to do it was Ravi Shastri against Madhya Pradesh during the 1990-91 season. Amid this, Faf du Plessis recalls shock decision to remove MS Dhoni as RPSG captain before IPL 2017.

Mumbai players to score a century and take a five-wicket haul in the same match:

  • Madan Raiji vs Maharashtra at Bombay (1947-48)
  • Dattu Phadkar vs Madras at Madras (1948-49)
  • Vinoo Mankad vs Madras at Bombay (1953-54)
  • Polly Umrigar vs Maharashtra at Pune (1957-58)
  • Ravi Shastri vs Madhya Pradesh at Indore (1990-91)
  • Musheer Khan vs Haryana at Mumbai (2026-27)

Musheer has also shown impressive consistency with the bat this season. He scored 65 off 149 balls in his first match, followed by 57 off 137 balls in his second match, before smashing 109 off 185 balls in his third match in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2026-27 season.
