Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. has been dismissed from the team after being arrested for the second time in a year, coach Kalen DeBoer said Tuesday.
Kirkpatrick was arrested Friday on charges related to allegedly harassing and doxxing the University of Alabama police officer who arrested him in 2025. According to police documents obtained by The Athletic, Kirkpatrick allegedly sent the officer a harassing message and posted a photo of the officer, his wife and their two children on Facebook with the caption "Dis him?"
"After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program," DeBoer said in a statement. "He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players."
Kirkpatrick allegedly sent profanity-laced messages to the officer through Facebook Messenger on Oct. 20, according to arrest records obtained by The Athletic.
Kirkpatrick was initially arrested in Tuscaloosa on three counts of reckless endangerment and charges of attempting to elude police and speeding. Following the arrest, he was suspended for the final seven games of last season before re-joining the team in the spring.
Kirkpatrick, the son of former Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick, also faces a separate misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident stemming from an incident in June.
Alabama suspended Kirkpatrick before Saturday's win over Texas A&M. The junior defensive back had appeared in all seven of Alabama's games this season, recording five tackles. In 28 games over three seasons with Alabama, he recorded 17 tackles and forced two fumbles.
