It’s fair to say that the STV Radio panel weren’t happy with Colby Donovan’s tackle for Celtic against Dundee United on Wednesday.
Despite minimal contact with Zac Sapsford, the Hoops defender faced calls for a red card due to the height of his lunge in an attempt to rescue the ball after a loose touch.

Celtic are held to a draw against Dundee United – what went wrong?
Cameron said initially on the STV Radio Football Show: “It’s a clear red card for me. Initially, when I watched it, thought there was no contact, but there’s clearly contact on the back of his calf.
“And it’s high on Sapsford. Donovan should’ve seen a red card. That decision, at 2-1, you’re playing well, you deserve to be in front… you’re probably going to win the game if Donovan is sent off.”
Co-host Bell then fumed: “It’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace. There’s five of us who’ve all come to the same conclusion, having watched it several times. It’s a disgraceful decision.
“In real time, I was watching the game in real time. And the tackle goes in and it looks atrocious, and they show the replay, and it looks even worse, and then within maybe 30 seconds, the game is restarted and Steven McLean waves play on.
“My dad was texting me, like, ‘What’s going on?’ And everyone I’ve spoken to who has watched it since has said it’s a red card. So why are we here? Why are we sitting here talking about a decision that bad for Celtic again, against Dundee United again? I just can’t compute it. I can’t understand it. I think it’s disgraceful.”
Finally, asked if he would’ve expected if a red if commentating on the game, Hamilton said: “When I saw it live, and it didn’t change my mind when I saw the replay, I think it’s high, the studs are showing, so that comes under attempt to harm an opponent.
“So for me, it’s dangerous play, and he couldn’t have any complaints if he seen red.”
