Defending champions Pakistan on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 unveiled a 15-member group for the U-19 Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Oman from November 5 to 14. Farhan Yousuf has been appointed to lead the side, with the Pakistan Cricket Board confirming the squad will fly out of Karachi on October 29.
Pakistan have been placed in Group A of the eight-team tournament alongside India, Nepal and United Arab Emirates. The selected group features two wicket-keeper-batters in Abdul Qadir and Hamza Zahoor, while the batting unit also includes Usman Khan, Hayam Khan, Jahangir Bilal and Huzaifa Ahsan.
All-rounders Ahmed Hussain and Hasnain Abbas Dar add balance to the middle order. The pace attack is built around Abdul Subhan, Mohammad Seyam, Ali Raza and Rizwanullah, with Mohammad Huzaifa and Niqab Shafiq serving as the two frontline spin options.
Of the 15 players chosen for the continental event, only Ali Raza and Huzaifa Ahsan were absent from the Pakistan U-19 setup that beat England 3-1 across a four-match Youth ODI series in September 2026, underlining the continuity in selection.
Pakistan open their title defence against UAE on November 6, before taking on arch-rivals India three days later on November 8. They round off their group commitments against Nepal on November 10. Group B is composed of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The semi-finals are pencilled in for November 12, with the final set to take place on November 14.
As reported by Dawn Shahid Anwar will carry the dual responsibility of head coach and team manager throughout the tour. Rao Iftikhar Anjum steps in as fast bowling coach, Zohaib Khan takes on the spin bowling coaching role, and Humayun Farhat has been appointed fielding coach. In the previous edition of the tournament, held in the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan dismantled India by 191 runs in a thoroughly one-sided final at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai to claim the title.
