FSU fans have taken to the skies to voice their displeasure with head coach Mike Norvell. Before FSU's game against the Clemson Tigers, a plane was seen flying around Doak Campbell Stadium, calling for the Seminoles to fire Norvell and Board of Trustees Chairman Peter Collins.
There was one problem: Norvell's name was misspelled on the banner, with it saying "FSU: Fire Novell + Peter Collins." While it is an unfortunate typo, it is clear just how frustrated FSU's fanbase has become with Norvell.
The Seminoles are 3-4 overall and 1-3 in ACC play this season. Only one of their wins is over a Power Four opponent, and the Virginia Cavaliers are 4-4. FSU will have a chance to get back to .500 against Clemson, with the Seminoles nearly a touchdown favorite over the struggling Tigers.
FSU has suffered back-to-back losing seasons under Norvell, who is in his seventh season as their head coach and has a 41-38 overall record. They have not won a road game since the 2023 season, a streak that is well over 1,000 days and continues to climb. Despite those struggles, he has a massive buyout, and FSU's administration has continued to support him.
According to Dan Rorabaugh of USA TODAY Sports, Norvell's buyout is $47.7 million if he is fired before Dec. 1, 2026. While it would be the third-biggest buyout in college football history, FSU's fans are tired of losing and ready for a change, no matter what it takes.
FSU's game against Clemson is set to start at 7 p.m. ET in Doak Campbell Stadium. The game will air on the ACC Network.
