Everton have fanned the flames a little more ahead of Monday's Premier League encounter with Newcastle United.
Tempers flared at the end of Thursday's Carabao Cup tie at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as Dan Burn headed home before Joelinton got in a tangle with Jordan Pickford, then James Tarkowski, as the Toffees took pleasure in delaying the game.
After the final whistle the home club opted to play a fan rendition of the Jordan Pickford song over the tannoy before their 3-1 win over Newcastle in the Carabao Cup to the delight of the Wearsider.

The song, containing the lyrics, "He hates Newcastle", was belted out before and after the match, but Everton stoked things up on Friday as they poked fun at Newcastle on their official TikTok channel.
Using clips of Joelinton and Harvey Barnes complaining about Tarkowski playing on after the ball had strayed out of play, a caption directed at Newcastle read: "Always play to the whistle" with a voice saying: "OK, but that's funny."

Whether Newcastle, with Matthias Jaissle admitting he has social media spies, see the funny side remains to be seen. It could prove to be even more motivation to get some revenge over Everton on Monday night, but the tensions that have developed over the years between the clubs show no sign of letting up.
One thing is for sure, Everton vs Newcastle is the rivalry that nobody ever asked for!
Newcastle definitely pondered long and hard on the possibility of signing the Teessider in the last two years with several scouting missions up and down the country to keep tabs on the midfielder.
But despite it becoming clear that Hackney was for sale last May, after Middlesbrough failed to win promotion, Newcastle's managerial uncertainty had a bearing on the Magpies failing to make their move. Hackney was believed to be on Andy Howe's list and had a recommendation from ex-chief scout Steve Nickson.
However, with Eddie Howe indicating he was having second thoughts on staying on as boss, Hackney's representatives moved down the line with clubs who'd shown their hand. The list contained Tottenham, Leeds, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Brentford but Hackney picked Everton after speaking to David Moyes and putting pen to paper on a £24m deal.
Ironically, Hackney shares the same agency as Matthias Jaissle, and as the ex-Boro star fired home in the Carabao Cup, you wonder what might have been.
Even if Dan Burn had never scored a goal again in his life after his header at Wembley against Liverpool, no Geordie would have complained.
But the 6ft 7in defender is eager to improve that aspect of his game and was disappointed after scoring just twice last season in a follow up season from the Carabao Cup winning campaign of 2024/25. Burn netted against Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League and in the 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at St James' Park.
Then on Thursday he got his first of the season with a consolation header against Everton. Burn would take another on Monday night and admits that he should be aiming for at least half a dozen per season.
Burn told Chronicle Live: "I've been saying this for about 16 years! But I've always said I need to score more goals and should score more goals. Hopefully I can get a few more, I think six is the most I've got."
