Chelsea fans know a clash with Tottenham is about far more than three points; it’s about bragging rights, local pride and having the perfect weekend at their rivals’ expense.
Fans lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket will want to head to SW6 early to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a few pints and get behind the Blues as they hunt for all three points.Potentially bin all those half and half scarves being sold.
The game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening kicks off at 17:30 but Chelsea fans will have to get there early if they want to avoid any chaos beforehand.
Transport for London (TfL) has announced changes to travel services this Saturday that could disrupt journeys for fans travelling across the capital, particularly those coming from south London.
There will be no District Line service between Edgware Road/Embankment and Ealing Broadway, Kensington (Olympia), Richmond and Wimbledon. The disruption means supporters may need to find an alternative route to Fulham Broadway ahead of the match.
Supporters travelling to Stamford Bridge should plan an alternative route, with these options considered the best alternative, and hopefully, stress free.
Best alternative: Piccadilly Line to Earls Court
Where possible, use the Piccadilly Line to or from Earls Court and complete the journey on foot or by bus from there. The walk for abled bodied individuals will take around 25-30 minutes.
Replacement bus: DL5
A replacement bus service, the DL5, will run between Earl’s Court, West Brompton and Fulham Broadway, offering fans an alternative route to the stadium. However, queues are likely during busy periods, so supporters should allow extra time for their journey.
Fans travelling on the Elizabeth Line to Paddington can take the number 27 bus to Hammersmith before switching to the 211, which stops around a five-minute walk from the stadium. The 211 runs between Hammersmith Bus Station and Battersea Power Station.
Other bus routes serving the area include the 11, 14 and 22, giving supporters several alternatives for reaching Stamford Bridge.
On foot
Supporters who prefer to walk can reach the stadium from Earls Court station in around 25 minutes.
Planning ahead
With the usual District Line route unavailable, leave earlier than normal and expect crowded platforms at Earls Court. Fans coming from the west should check their route in advance, as the suspension also affects the Ealing Broadway, Richmond and Wimbledon branches.
