Major WWE departure expected soon: Who will take over from Bruce Prichard after WrestleMania 43?

A major WWE departure is reportedly expected to take place soon with the exit of company executive Bruce Prichard.

Bruce Prichard currently serves as WWE’s Executive Director of Creative Writing & Talent – he is essentially the second man in creative behind Triple H.

For example, when HHH is absent from a live show for whatever reason, Prichard is usually the man running it in his place.

According to PWInsider, the expectation is that Prichard will retire from his role after WrestleMania 43 season next April, but will remain connected to WWE “on a consulting basis.”

Despite that arrangement, he wouldn’t retain his current duties and he wouldn’t even live in Stamford near the company headquarters.

One source said his time with WWE would end with WrestleMania itself, but another noted that the timeline could end up changing due to the nature of the wrestling business.

Prichard was notably one of Vince McMahon’s top right hand men in a couple of separate stints with WWE, this one beginning in 2019 after a previous departure in 2008.

Since Triple H took over leading creative from McMahon, Prichard has remained in his role but has long been described as one of the final remnants of the McMahon era.

According to PWInsider, there’s no word yet on who will take over from Prichard when he leaves his current role.

Who will be Triple H’s next right hand man?

With the exit of Bruce Prichard, a spot will open up as Triple H’s new second in WWE creative, and there isn’t really an obvious replacement.

The lead candidate would probably be Ed Koskey, who is currently WWE’s Senior Vice President of Creative, who works directly with Prichard.

Koskey has been featured heavily on WWE Unreal as one of the faces of the creative team, and he essentially oversees the creative of both Raw and SmackDown.

He has been with WWE since 2001, so as far as tenure and seniority in the current setup, it would seem like he’d be the most likely replacement as things stand right now.

Other candidates include Raw lead writers Alexandra Williams and Jonathan Baeckstrom, and SmackDown lead writers John Swikata and Ryan Ward.

There’s also a case to be made for current NXT head of creative Shawn Michaels, who has of course been so closely connected to Triple H throughout their careers, or perhaps Jeremy Borash, who has been running AAA creative alongside The Undertaker for the past year.

Let us know in the comments below who you think should take over from Bruce Prichard when he leaves WWE in a few months.
