The 2026 versions of the Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts are a long way from their 1970 counterparts that met in the Super Bowl. Both sporting records far away from playoff contention, the two teams are meeting in Week 9 in the final matchup before the NFL's trading deadline. With Tuesday's ultimatum on roster configuration so close around the corner, both teams are likely mulling sending out players in order to improve future draft hauls.
But there's a game to play between now and if those moves are made. The club's have announced the players they've ruled out. Dallas will once again be without WR Kavontae Turprin and this week sent their second 2025 first-round pick Malachi Lawrence to injured reserve. The Colts will be without LB Akeem Davis-Gaither.
Being that the matchup is between not-in-contention clubs, the majority of the country shouldn't have to watch the contest without some help. But low and behold, it's almost a fully national game.
