Tottenham Hotspur are keen on bringing Eintracht Frankfurt star Younes Ebnoutalib to the Premier League next year. 

The striker’s impressive run this season has convinced Tottenham to take initial steps to secure his services.

He joined the Bundesliga side from second division German side SV Elversberg in January. Later that month, the 23-year-old made his debut and suffered a ligament tear, only to return to the pitch in April.

Ebnoutalib finished the second half of last season with a goal from 131 minutes in five appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tottenham and Juve ahead in transfer race 

Prior to his move to Eintracht Frankfurt, Celtic reportedly wanted to sign the frontman. His decision to join the German club has worked out well as he’s impressed this season.

To put it in context, the striker scored eight goals and contributed two assists from 675 minutes in 10 matches. That’s a goal contribution every 67.5 minutes. His fine displays have helped him make debut for Germany in September.

This has also caught the attention of European clubs, and among these, Sky Deutschland states Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are the ‘most prominent suitors’. This indicates the two clubs are ahead in the race to sign him.

Spurs and the Serie A side showing interest in the newly capped Germany international isn’t surprising for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tottenham register interest 

Roberto De Zerbi’s side and Juventus have taken action by contacting Younes Ebnoutalib’s agent to register their interest in him. There’s no clarity of whether he’s open to changing clubs in January or next summer.

His contract lasts until 2031, and Transfermarkt value him at €18m, the highest of his career so far.

Earlier this month, Markus Krösche stepped down from his role as the Bundesliga side’s sporting director. Prior to that, he had held talks with the frontman over a new contract.

Joti Chatzialexiou will take charge at Eintracht Frankfurt in February and should restart renewal talks with Ebnoutalib’s camp.

Tottenham Hotspur or any other club can take advantage of this delay to persuade the attacker to join them as early as the winter market.
