Some Everton supporters are reportedly planning to take their frustration with The Friedkin Group to Old Trafford next week.
It’s been a difficult few weeks off the pitch. TFG put the club up for sale earlier this month, less than two years after completing their takeover in December 2024. A new report suggests they’re only willing to sanction loans and free transfers in January. Now fans are looking to make themselves heard.

According to Football Insider, some Everton fan groups are planning a protest when Roma, TFG’s other club, visit Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday, 3 November.
Why Old Trafford? Well, it’s the closest TFG will come to Merseyside. The owners are reportedly yet to attend a game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Dan Friedkin is said to have had no face-to-face contact with David Moyes since the takeover.
Under the same owners, Roma have lifted the Conference League and reached a Europa League final. Everton, meanwhile, have been left with the smallest squad in the division and a manager pleading for help. Toffee fans understandably feel like TFG view their club as a glorified side project.
Protesting at another club’s ground might seem an odd move, but it makes sense. TFG haven’t come to Merseyside, so fans see this an opportunity to take the message to them. A Champions League night at Old Trafford, with cameras everywhere, is far harder to ignore than a banner at Hill Dickinson.
Is it ideal? No. But when the owners haven’t engaged with the fans, the fans have to find another way to be heard.
And if the Friedkins do turn up in Manchester having never sat in the stands on Merseyside, the protesters will have made their point for them.
