The Minnesota Vikings and their offense have struggled for stretches of the 2026 season. While they are happy with the likes of Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz, they have struggled to have anyone give them much help out of the backfield with run support.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has a suggestion for how the unit can turn the page before the trade deadline. Following the firing of Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard, folks are discussing their star players who could be on the trade market. One of those players is running back Jonathan Taylor.
Knox recently named the Vikings as a team that could land Taylor.
He writes, "While Taylor could help just about any running-back-needy team, the Minnesota Vikings make the most sense. They remain undefeated but have questions at running back after watching Aaron Jones exit Sunday's game with a knee injury. Minnesota is still trying to settle quarterback Kyler Murray into its offense, and Taylor could help steady the process. According to Schefter, the Vikings have also held prior interest in Taylor."
Taylor is currently fifth in the NFL in rushing yards with 587 yards this year. The spark he would provide, and balance, is almost priceless to a team that is already undefeated. It may be a bit of an popular move to trade for a running back when you are 6-0 and capable of making a Super Bowl, you get aggressive.
