The homestanding Tigers rolled past perennial power Kentwood 22-6 to capture the District 9-1A crown on Friday.

The Tigers, 8-1, and the Kangaroos each have one loss in District 9-1A play.

East Feliciana led 14-6 at the half and entered the fourth quarter 22-6.

The Tigers were led by quarterback Marcus Cannon Jr.’s two touchdowns on 146 yards passing and a defense that held the Kangaroos to 181 total yards.

Cannon has thrown for 1,095 yards and 16 touchdowns, and Makyle Cannon has run for 527 yards.

Wide receiver Ryan Moore leads the team with 15 total touchdowns, including eight receiving.

East Feliciana closes out the regular season Friday at winless Varnado. The Tigers have won eight consecutive games since a season-opening loss at Lake Charles College Prep.

Slaughter Community Charter

Albert Eubanks rushed for 200 yards but it was not enough as Slaughter fell to Dunhan 63-13 Friday.

Eubanks has rushed for 1,331 yards and four touchdowns for the Knights (2-7, 2-2).

“It was a tough game against the defending state champs,” Slaughter coach Patrick Clarkston said. “The first quarter was close and then it got out of hand.”

“Their offense is very good,” he said.

Keller Spinks led Slaughter’s defense with 12 tackles.

The Knights close out the regular season Friday at Donaldsonville in a game with playoff implications.

“It will be a tough and close matchup,” Clarkston said. “They are big and want to throw the ball around. We will have to get pressure and play well in the secondary.”

West Feliciana

The Saints had little trouble with Belaire in a 49-6 nondistrict victory.

West Feliciana, 8-1, has won six games by 35 points or more this season and has won 11 of its past 12 home games.

Belaire fell to 1-8.

West Feliciana closes out the regular season Friday by hosting Collegiate in its final game before the playoffs.

Silliman

The Wildcats ran their record to 3-6 with a 51-0 blanking of winless Christian Collegiate Academy Friday.

Silliman is 1-2 in MAIS District 4A.
