West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United have their eyes firmly set on a place in the Championship top eight this season, and to boost their play-off hopes, both will surely be looking ahead to the January window for some fresh recruits.

As clubs in the EFL get into the thick of the season, it will have become apparent to many what their areas of strength and weakness are, and where their priorities lie ahead of the January window.

Players who are not necessarily earning many minutes at their current club could be allowed to leave in the winter in search of more game time, and in the case of Everton winger Tyler Dibling, that could very well be the case.

The England youth international has struggled to break into the Everton side under David Moyes, and as a result, it would be no surprise to see the 20-year-old head out on loan to the Championship in January.

Coming through the youth ranks of Exeter City, Chelsea, and Southampton, it would be the latter where Dibling would first make a name for himself and be thrust into the spotlight, making 33 Premier League appearances for the Saints during the 2024/25 campaign.

Despite Southampton's relegation, Dibling shone and left that season as one of the Saints' few bright lights, though interest in the England youth international quickly emerged.

Everton would strike a deal worth a potential £40 million for Dibling in the summer of 2025, but in his first year on Merseyside, he would manage just over 500 professional minutes across all competitions, and so far this season, that hasn't seen much improvement.

The winger desperately needs regular minutes to prevent the stunting of his development, as the Championship could be the perfect stage to showcase his talents once more; Football League World has taken a look at two EFL sides that should consider loan switches for the Englishman this January.

West Brom have carried their good form from last season under James Morrison into this campaign, as the Baggies look like real play-off contenders right now.

A recent 3-1 away victory at West Ham has to be their best result of the season right now, and in truth, they were good value for the three points, as Morrison will have few areas to improve heading into January.

However, not one player has been able to consistently lock down a starting berth on the right flank as yet, with each of Harry Whitwell, Kareem Tunde, and Rabby Nzingoula being used in that spot so far this season.

Whitwell and Nzingoula have both impressed since coming into the first team fold over the summer, though Tunde has struggled since arriving from Levante, and another option in that area of the pitch couldn't go amiss.

Dibling, whilst best off the right where he can cut in on his left foot, can play anywhere in the final third, and would add some extra star power to Morrison's arsenal and majorly boost their promotion prospects.

On a loan until the end of the season, Dibling is sure to attract attention from a lot of Championship clubs, as West Brom should ensure they are towards the front of the queue.

West Ham have recently confirmed the dismissal of Nuno Espírito Santo, with former Fulham, Bournemouth, and Burnley boss Scott Parker set to assume control at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have decided to bite the bullet and dismiss the Portuguese boss after winning less than half of his league games this campaign, as Parker will be given the chance to take his former club back to the Premier League.

Parker will likely already have one eye on the winter transfer window ahead of taking the West Ham job, and it would be a surprise if Dibling wasn't on his list of targets.

With Jarrod Bowen locking down the right flank as his own, with no competition or obvious depth behind him, injury and fatigue are not easily avoidable for the England international, as a backup option in that area ought to be sourced.

Dibling would provide excellent competition immediately upon his arrival, and could allow Bowen to move to a more central position if needs be.

Either way, Bowen needs some obvious depth and competition behind him to avoid burning out, and Dibling on loan could be the perfect short-term fit for everyone involved.
