NEED TO KNOW

  • The Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays are facing off in the 2026 World Series

  • The matchup marks a historic moment for both teams, as neither franchise has won a World Series

  • Both teams’ players have their wives and girlfriends cheering them on from the sidelines

The 2026 World Series is underway, and both teams have support from family and friends.

The national championship features the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays in a historic matchup — as neither franchise has ever won the title.

Players from both teams have thanked their significant others for cheering them on. Before Brewers player Jake Bauers helped lead his team to win the NLCS and was named MVP, he credited his wife, Lauren, for helping him live out his dreams.

“She’s holding it down at home by herself a lot of the time, which it’s a lot,” Jake said during an Oct. 12 press conference. “Those kids, they’re a blessing and we love them, but man, they’re a handful. So for her to do that and for her to allow me the opportunity to come here and keep going and just support me any way she can, it’s been crazy. It’s been crazy to see her growth as a woman and a mom.”

Here’s everything to know about the wives and girlfriends of the players in the 2026 World Series.

The Milwaukee Brewers

Brewers first baseman Jake Bauers has been married to his high school sweetheart, Lauren Bauers, since January 2022. The couple met while attending high school together in Huntington Beach, Calif., and have welcomed two children together, per the Los Angeles Times.

In the midst of their family expanding, Jake was bouncing around teams in the major and minor leagues and initially decided it was time to leave the sport in 2024. However, after finding out that Lauren was pregnant with their second child, Jake called up the Brewers and asked if they’d have a spot for him, so they could have healthcare.

“I was beat up after a long season,” he recalled to Good Morning America on Oct. 20. “We had our daughter. We didn’t necessarily know what was next. I was a free agent. There wasn’t a lot of interest around the league. I just felt like it could’ve been time to move on.”

Brewers Captain Christian Yelich is in a relationship with Paige Noel Almendariz.

The left fielder and the professional soccer player confirmed they were dating in April 2026 when Almendariz shared several photos of them spending time together.

Since then, Almendariz, who is a defender for DC Power, has shared pictures wearing her beau’s jersey, attending games and bringing their dog to support Yelich.

Garrett and Haley Mitchell

Garrett Mitchell, who plays with the Brewers as a center fielder, is just one half of an athletic power couple.

The outfielder is married to former professional softball player Haley Cruse Mitchell. Both Garrett and Haley grew up playing their respective sports and later competed at different colleges. While Garrett was drafted to the Brewers in 2020, Haley signed with the USSSA Pride within the Women’s Professional Fastpitch (WPF) league.

“I feel like our games are very similar...That’s something we’ve had in common,” Garrett told Sports Illustrated in 2026. “What it means to play the position [center field] and bat in the leadoff...It’s pretty easy to talk to her about that stuff.”

Garrett and Haley married in December 2021 and announced in August 2026 they are expecting their first child together, a baby girl, in 2027.

Brice Turang is also part of an athletic duo.

The Brewers second baseman has been with the Midwest team since the 2018 draft and has had the support of his girlfriend, Maile Olsen, for much of his professional career. The couple have been dating since at least 2021 and have both posted pictures in Brewers attire.

Similar to her boyfriend, Olsen is also an athlete who played college softball at the University of Nevada until 2024, per her roster.

When Cooper Pratt made his MLB debut with the Brewers in June 2026, he had his girlfriend, Jansyn Hollis, by his side.

The shortstop, who was signed to the Brewers in the 2023 draft, and Hollis have been dating since 2025.

After Pratt played on the field of his first Brewers game in June 2025, Hollis posted pictures of them in Brewers gear and wrote that she was “so proud of and grateful” for her boyfriend.

Andrew Vaughn has been with the Brewers since 2025 but has been playing in the MLB for over five years.

The first baseman met his wife, Lexi Vaughn, through mutual friends in 2018, but it initially didn’t appear to be a match.

“Neither one of us were interested at the time,” Lexi later told PEOPLE in 2022. “He was in college at Berkeley and I was at Ole Miss. It just seemed unrealistic.”

The two began “talking every day,” though, and eventually ended up in Atlanta at the same time. They began dating and got engaged in December 2021 before tying the knot in California in November 2022.

Jacob Misiorowski may be known as one of the most terrifying pitchers to face, but his fiancée also has an impressive arm.

The Brewers starting pitcher has been in a longtime relationship with Elle Nicas, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He announced they were engaged in January 2026 by posting a picture of his fiancée’s hand with a diamond ring on her ring finger.

They attended the 2025 MLB All-Star Game red carpet and the following year, Misiorowski gushed about Nicas’ athletic feats of her own when he told reporter Russell Dorsey that she played softball in high school and was throwing balls in the low 70s.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy also shed light on their relationship in a July 2026 Sports Illustrated profile of Misiorowski and said that Nicas attends every game she can with his parents.

“They’re all very close,” Murphy said. “To see every day he leaves with his whole family, it’s just a beautiful thing.”

Brewers third baseman and shortstop Joey Ortiz celebrated his first wedding anniversary with his wife, Iliana May Ortiz, ahead of the 2026 season.

While Ortiz keeps a low profile online, he posted a handful of pictures from their wedding day in January 2025. During another couple’s surprise baby shower at American Family Field, Joey and Iliana surprised them as special guests and announced they were also expecting their first child, per Fox 6 Now.

“We’re just happy they allowed us to be a part of it,” Joey said, while adding they are expecting a girl in December 2026.

David, who returned to the Brewers in 2026 after a stint with the Boston Red Sox, previously thanked Mallory for continuing to “light up my life.”

“Another year around the sun,” he wrote. “You continue to light up my life, there’s never a dull moment with you. I am proud of who you are and all that you do. Grateful to call you mine, and grateful to have a best friend as a partner. Happy birthday.”

Mallory has a son named Braxton from a previous relationship, per their wedding website.

Drew Rasmussen is another star pitcher for the Rays.

Drew, who also played for the Brewers before being traded to the Rays, has been in a relationship with his wife, Stevie Rasmussen, for over a decade. The couple met through mutual friends while they were attending Oregon State University in 2014, he previously told MLB.com.

Drew and Stevie married in November 2020 and later became parents when they welcomed son Rhett William in September 2022 and daughter Miller Drew in April 2026.

“From a support standpoint, she’s everything for me and my son,” Drew told MLB.com in 2025. “Thomas Rhett has a song basically saying, like, ‘Thank you for living this dream I know you never had.’ She never takes any of the credit. She never gets any of the credit that she deserves.”

Drew continued, “But I mean, my life gets to run seamlessly and flawlessly because of all the sacrifices she makes and just everything she does, day in and day out. She does everything, and she does it really well. Without her, none of this would be possible.”
