Hull KR CEO Paul Lakin has moved to provide supporters with some insight into the club's three new recruits for the 2027 season.
Following the departure of Willie Peters, KR are preparing for a new era at Craven Park with Nathan Cayless picking up the reins. The former New Zealand international is due to arrive in east Hull in just under two weeks and he'll be joined by a trio of signings from down under, who will help him make his mark at the club.
Moala Graham-Taufa, Eddie Hampson and Salesi Ataata will all be joining the Robins from the New South Wales and Queensland Cups and while KR fans won't know too much about them, Cayless knows them extremely well having coached against them.
He knows they'll add plenty to his KR squad then and Lakin believes they'll go some way towards providing Rovers with the edge they might have been missing at times last season.
"I think what you'll expect from all three is power and leg speed," Lakin said. "They're two key elements.
"They're all six foot plus and what I would describe as genuine athletes. We were looking for some punch and leg speed and all three of those of those bring those qualities.
"You do a lot of homework on players and we have access to a tremendous about of data, a lot of things are data led now, and we have data that covers every player in both hemisphere's reserves leagues and upwards. There's not a player we can't tap into to understand the data.
"That's only half of the recruitment process, the other half is their personality, the person, the background, the history, are you bringing a good person into the club? You marry the two together and then in terms of being data-led, you can put in what attributes you're looking for. Are you looking for a metre-eater, or a line breaker?
"With these three Nathan's had sight of all three of them, he's been able to see them in person.
"There's two 24-year-olds and one who's 23, so they're all at a good age and we purposely wanted to bring the overall age down a little bit but we don't want to overlook the experience that we've got. There's a balance. It is a freshen up and not an overhaul, I don't think that's needed."
