After the game against Inter, AC Milan were expected to rotate and they certainly have, based on the predicted XI to face Ferencvaros.
A win like the one against Inter takes a lot out of players, that is without considering the October which they’ve had, too. So, the standard rotation in the Europa League was expected to be increased, with reports suggesting a four-year drop in the team’s average age.
The starting XI is expected to have a very youthful feel, which most hoped would be the case in midweek games anyway. Nevertheless, it’s not a ‘throwaway’ game; it’s just as important to Ruben Amorim as the derby.
So, the changes start in defence, where Lorenzo Torriani replaces the suspended Mike Maignan, as Sky reports (seen below). Koni De Winter should be the only player to retain a starting spot in the backline, with Filippo Terracciano and Davide Bartesaghi coming in, whilst Sankhoun Diawara drops back into the back four.
In midfield, Yunus Musah will partner Ardon Jashari and they will be supported by Adrien Rabiot, who will sit ahead of the younger duo.
A vaguely youthful front line sees Omari Hutchinson and Alphadjo Cisse start on the flanks, with Goncalo Ramos starting in the middle again.
Predicted Milan XI (4-4-1-1): Torriani; Terracciano, De Winter, Diawara, Bartesaghi; Hutchinson, Musah, Jashari, Cisse; Rabiot; Ramos
