Harry Kane has revealed Vincent Kompany is recovering after collapsing at Bayern Munich training, while insisting a Premier League return is far from his thoughts following his Ballon d'Or triumph.
The England captain received the award at the London Palladium on Monday night after scoring 73 goals for club and country last season.
Kane disclosed that his club boss had called him on the morning of the ceremony, offering encouragement before the striker's moment on stage.
The conversation also gave Kane an opportunity to check on Kompany, whose absence has left Bayern's staff covering his responsibilities.
Speaking after the ceremony, Kane said: "Yeah, he actually phoned me (Monday) morning, phoned me bright and early at 9am and I was just out of bed thankfully.
"He just wanted to wish me all the best and good luck.
