Rangers News can exclusively reveal that one of Rangers’ employees has parted ways with the club permanently.
Neil Douglas, the club’s first assistant groundsman, has left for good after spending nearly three and a half years at Ibrox.
He will be taking up another role away from the Light Blues, and the exit is understood to be his decision.
Douglas worked directly under the Head Groundsman, who at Rangers is David Roxburgh. He played a crucial hands-on role, which included supervising the maintenance of pitch performance, safety, as well as the visual standards across the stadium and training grounds.

Scottish football chiefs are considering bringing an end to the Saturday 3pm blackout. What are your thoughts on that? Will it help or hinder things?
In this position, Douglas was actively involved in heavy aeration and decompaction tasks, operating specialised machinery such as verti-drains, scarifiers and slitters. This helped to promote root depth, alleviate soil compaction and guarantee efficient surface drainage across both the stadium and training pitch surfaces.
He would also have taken charge of calibrating and applying essential fertilisers, bio-stimulants, fungicides and herbicides under strict regulatory guidelines to preserve optimal grass health throughout changing seasons, among various other duties.
