Manchester United’s players are making the headlines once again with a spectacular performance against rivals Liverpool.
Whilst Michael Carrick’s squad have been going through a rough patch of form, other parts of the club are going from strength to strength.
Manchester United Women are amongst those, having won six matches in a row.
Olid’s side followed that up last weekend against Liverpool again, scoring five goals to move to the top of the Women’s League Cup table, a result that has helped set the tone for tomorrow’s pivotal derby fixture against Manchester City.
Following on from Manchester United Women’s impressive win against Liverpool, it is Manchester United Under-18s that are now making their names known with an impressive performance against the Merseyside-based outfit.
Scoring six, as they beat Liverpool 6-3, Darren Fletcher’s side established themselves as a dominant force in the early stages of the game.
Jaume Camacho capped off the Red Devils’ strong start with a 25-yard stunner to open the scoring before Noah Ajayi added a second in the later stages of the first-half.
Scoring his second of the day, in relatively calmer fashion to his first, Camacho got on the end of Kai Rooney’s squared pass to put away United’s third of the game on the verge of half-time.
Liverpool came into the game more in the second half and pulled one back in the 73rd minute with Erik Farkas reducing the arrears.
Just three minutes later, though, Camacho completed his hat-trick with his left-footed striker nestling into the far corner.
Despite a further goal from Liverpool, through captain Finn Inglethorpe, United did not falter as Emmanuel Ziro and Camacho added further goals to cap off a brilliant performance from Darren Fletcher’s side.
The result has solidified Manchester United Under-18s third-place position in U18 Premier League North, and is United’s fourth successive home victory in all competitions.
Camacho’s four-goal haul will undeniably dominate the headlines, but this result represents an impressive team performance across the board.
With Jaume Camacho leading the charge, Manchester United Under-18s have sent a clear message to their rivals ahead of the rest of the season.
The Red Devils will now look to carry this momentum into their next fixture as they aim to push further up the league table.
