The Charlotte Hornets dropped their fifth consecutive game Wednesday night, as the Brooklyn Nets outscored them by 10 in the final frame to earn a 114-104 victory. It was a familiar scene for Hornets fans, as Charlotte struggled with their offensive efficiency as well as turnovers. Star forward Brandon Miller had a rough night, finishing with 10 points on 2-for-15 shooting from the field, including 1-for-10 shooting from beyond the arc, to go along with four rebounds, one assist and three turnovers. To make matters even worse, Kon Knueppel reaggravated his left leg while making his season debut, exiting the game after just six minutes. Naz Reid and Grayson Allen were bright spots on the offensive end, combining for 50 points and seven made 3-pointers.
For the Nets, Michael Porter Jr. and Julius Randle did the bulk of the scoring, as Porter Jr. finished with 26 and 10 rebounds. Randle finished with 22 points, four assists, three rebounds and one steal, while rookie Mikel Brown Jr. added 18 in 20 minutes off the bench.
Now, 3-6 on the season, the Hornets will have their work cut out for them Friday, hosting the Boston Celtics in NBA Cup Group Play.
