Alexis Mac Allister is reportedly set to depart Liverpool despite the midfielder's desire to remain at Anfield. He is contracted until the summer of 2028 but is yet to be offered fresh terms, having previously expressed his disappointment at not receiving an offer earlier this year.
He's been among Liverpool's standout performers so far this campaign, scoring four goals in 12 appearances across all competitions.
Mac Allister has made no secret of his wish to continue his career on Merseyside, yet reports suggest his preference will be overlooked.

Liverpool are reportedly looking to sell the Argentina international in the summer of 2027 as part of a midfield overhaul, according to Sky Sports Switzerland.
It is claimed the Reds are prepared to spend a "significant sum" to recruit at least one new midfielder at the end of the season.
Consequently, Mac Allister is not anticipated to be handed a new contract and has been made aware of Liverpool's intentions, with an exit now considered a "concrete possibility".
Earlier this campaign, the 27-year-old acknowledged that he was "sad" about not being handed an extension and disclosed that he turned down the chance to leave during the summer.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's opening Champions League fixture against Atletico Madrid, the midfielder said: "There was a chance [to leave], of course, like everybody knows.
"I received the news that the club was not in a position to offer me a new contract, which of course makes me very sad. I think everyone can see that I give my 100 per cent for this football club, every single day in training.
"Of course I have good games and bad games, but I always give my best. I see Dominik [Szoboszlai] and Ryan [Gravenberch] renewing their contracts, which makes me very happy because they deserve it.
"But at the same time, it makes me sad that I didn't get mine. Of course there is still time [to be offered a new contract]. Fans don't need to worry because I will give 100 per cent until my last day.
"We will see what happens. There was options to leave this summer. I think right now I'm in the right club."
Mac Allister was once more pressed on his contract circumstances following his brace that helped Liverpool overcome Villarreal in the Champions League last week.
He said: "When I say what I said, it was more about my feelings," he said. "That's their decision and it's fine. I do my best and in the end, we'll see what happens."
