Brooks Koepka has never been one to mince his words. Ask him a question and you will get a straightforward answer every single time.
In fact, Koepka’s honesty and uncompromising nature in general is part of his appeal.
And the five-time major winner lived up to his reputation back in 2019 when Brandel Chamblee highlighted the lack of genuine challengers to Tiger Woods’ throne.
Woods is unquestionably one of the two greatest golfers of all time alongside Jack Nicklaus, with 82 PGA Tour wins to his name, including 15 major championships.
Meanwhile, Koepka also boasts an impressive record in the major championships, with five wins to his name
The 36-year-old American has excelled in the major championships throughout his career, so it’s perhaps no surprise that he was offended by Brandel Chamblee‘s comments back in 2019.
During an interview with Jaime Diaz for GOLF.com in 2019, Chamblee was asked which players were capable of ‘hanging with’ Woods when he was on top form.
“In the aggregate, you’d have Dustin and Rory who are the likely two who could hang with him,” he said.
“Jon Rahm’s still got a lot to learn. His iron play’s not as sharp as it needs to be to be the best player in the world, and it forces him to have to pitch the ball…his pitching, generally speaking, is not as good as it needs to be. And Spieth’s game has fallen off. So it’s really only two players who could challenge him.
“Irrespective of the world rankings, I think all of us know what we need to know without the world rankings telling us, and it’s Rory and it’s Dustin Johnson and it’s Tiger Woods, but Tiger’s simply not going to play enough to get the points that he needs to get.”
Koepka clearly wasn’t happy with those comments, and he took to his social media accounts to respond directly to Chamblee’s remarks.
The five-time major champion posted a picture of Chamblee mocked up as a clown.

The harsh reality is that nobody was a match for Tiger Woods in his prime.
Whether Koepka likes it or not, Woods was on another level entirely to him. And he would surely admit that behind closed doors.
