Colorado hosts Kansas State on Saturday, Oct. 31, looking to end a two-game losing streak against an opponent it has beaten more often than almost any other on its schedule.
The Buffaloes lead the all-time series 45-22-1 and own a 28-6 home record against the Wildcats. Kansas State has won both meetings since Colorado returned to the Big 12, beating Colorado 31-28 at Folsom Field in 2024 before winning 24-14 in Manhattan last November.
A win Saturday would give Colorado its first victory over Kansas State since 2010.
Colorado defeated Kansas State 44-36 in Boulder on Nov. 20, 2010. The teams did not meet again until 2024, when the Wildcats won by three points in their return to Folsom Field.
Kansas State holds a 6-4 advantage over the past 10 meetings. The series is even at 16-16-1 in Boulder, making the Buffaloes’ success there a significant part of their overall lead.
Kansas State won the first meeting 14-6 on Nov. 16, 1912. Colorado’s longest winning streak followed decades later, with 10 consecutive victories from 1954 through 1963.
The Buffaloes recorded their largest series win on Nov. 17, 1990, defeating the Wildcats 64-3 in Boulder. Colorado also won seven consecutive meetings from 1985 through 1992 before the teams tied 16-16 in 1993.
The upcoming Halloween matchup will be the 69th meeting, with Colorado seeking its 46th series win.
