For one day every year, New Yorkers come together to roll out the red carpet for the TCS New York City Marathon. This year’s race on Sunday, Nov. 1, might be the biggest one yet.

Nearly 60,000 runners are set to race in the city-wide marathon, with plenty of star-studded participation to boot. In all, 60 celebrities, athletes, and public figures are getting ready to complete the 26.2-mile course.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to run marathons around the world, but New York will always have my heart,” Tony Award-winning actress Patina Miller told Travel + Leisure. “The energy, the people, the neighborhoods, the crowds cheering your name—it’s just unlike anything else. As a New Yorker, there’s also something really emotional about running through your own city and seeing it show up for you in that way.” Miller is currently starring in School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play on Broadway and is hoping to finish the marathon in time to take the stage for her 2 p.m. show.

She’s not the only star lacing up. Actress Jennifer Connelly will be running in support of the charity Fred’s Team; Erika Henningsen from Broadway’s Mean Girls and Just In Time—as well as Netflix’s The Four Seasons—will be running in support of Girl Rising; and Benjamin Walker (currently on Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) will also be running toward the finish line. This year also marks the tenth NYC Marathon for Catfish: The TV Show creator and former host Nev Schulman. “This year will be special because it will be the first time I run it with my wife, Laura Perlongo,” Schulman told T+L, adding, “I’m thrilled I get to run alongside my incredible wife.”

Celebs Share Their Favorite NYC Runs

Many stars are using their platforms for a purpose and running in support of charities. Actor and musician Joshua Bassett is running for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI); Antoni Porowski for City Harvest; ABC 7 New York’s Liz Cho and Mike Marza for the Alzheimer’s Association; and Casey Neistat and Justin Britt for New York Road Runners Team for Kids, among many others.

While the NYC Marathon started in 1970 with just 127 starters as one lap around Central Park’s lower loop and four laps around the whole park, this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the course expanding into each of the city’s five boroughs.

“It’s incredible that something that started with a relatively small group of runners has grown into this extraordinary celebration that brings people together from all over the world,” Miller said.

For many, the marathon isn’t just a hometown race—it’s part of the growing trend of “runcations.” Summer House star Carl Radke, who will be running his second NYC Marathon in support of Release Recovery, is in favor of mixing racing with travel.

“I’ve had the chance to run both the London and Berlin Marathons, and I love how every race has its own personality, from the crowds to the energy of the city,” the More Life podcast host told T+L. “It’s such a fun way to explore somewhere new while doing something you love.”

As a two-time finisher, this reporter knows firsthand there really is no better tour of New York City. Each neighborhood springs to life—from a gospel choir singing on church steps in Brooklyn to the wild cheers along First Avenue after crossing the quiet Queensboro Bridge. And just as thrilling as being part of the action is joining the more than 2 million spectators gathered along the route to cheer on the runners.

This year, one of the biggest questions is whether Harry Styles—who ran the Tokyo and Berlin Marathons in 2025—will surprise New Yorkers by pinning on a bib just hours after completing the last performance of his 30-show run at Madison Square Garden. (Earlier this year, fans were speculating that Styles would run the 2026 London Marathon in April, but he reportedly didn’t participate—unless he was the mysterious runner dressed as Daddy Pig from Peppa Pig.)

Even so, dozens of familiar faces will take to the streets of New York City this weekend. This is the complete list of celebrity runners set to run from Staten Island to Central Park:
