Caleb Williams was the man of the hour as he led his Chicago Bears to an impressive 30-24 Week 7 win over the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. The Bears quarterback completed 22 of 33 passes for 308 yards and 2 touchdowns for his second consecutive game with 300-plus yards.

While there were plaudits aplenty after a win that improved the franchise to 5-2, in his post-game interview with the Prime Video booth, Williams made it a point to note that he was keeping receipts of all who doubted the franchise.

Fans React to Caleb Williams’ Fiery Week 7 Comments

Earlier, on his podcast, former Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman ranked the Bears as the fifth-best squad in the league, a distinction that raised more than a few eyebrows in Chicago. Williams, however, was clearly among those paying attention.

While speaking on the Prime Video broadcast after the game, Williams threw a subtle jab at Sherman. “Hopefully, we can get in your top five,” Williams said. “I see it all.”

A Bears fan pointed out Sherman’s uncomfortable reaction to Williams’ comments.

“My QB got Sherman stuttering,” the fan wrote.

One fan demanded that the Bears quarterback focus and stay off social media.

“I wouldn’t want a QB who sees it all. Stay offline and stay in your playbook/meetings/gameplan,”the fan remarked.

Another fan celebrated Williams proving the doubters wrong with his Thursday Night Football performance.

“Caleb Williams is keeping receipts. Experts ranked him 10th in July, and now he’s calling out Sherman for leaving Chicago out of his top 5. He backed it up with 308 yards and 2 TDs to beat us,” the fan posted.

One fan opined that Williams had converted the three-time First-team All-Pro cornerback into a fan with his comments.

“Sherman bout to be a fan for life after this lol look how happy he was when he said he watches the podcast,” the fan remarked.

Another fan pointed out Williams’ obsessive memory of analysts’ takes.

“He already called out the Get Up crew over their Falcons picks. Caleb tracks pundit takes better than I track the game, and I’m supposed to be the fan here,” the fan remarked.

Williams has missed three games this season due to a Grade 2 hamstring strain, but has amassed 1,020 passing yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 interception for the Bears, earning a PFN QB Impact score of 84.2 (No. 4 in the NFL).

On Thursday night, the former USC Trojans star became the first Bears QB to throw for more than 300 yards in consecutive games since Mitch Trubisky managed the feat in three straight games in 2018.

After finishing with a promising 11-6 record last season, the Bears have picked up right where they left off and have a 5-2 record so far. Coach Ben Johnson’s team is first in the NFC North and, with a healthy Williams under center, is evidently a contender for a Super Bowl spot.
