Elliot Stroud admits the overriding feeling in the Hull City dressing room was that the Tigers had dropped two points against Brentford on Sunday.
City led at half-time thanks to Oli McBurnie's penalty midway through the first period, before Dango Ouattara turned in from close range and denied the hosts a first victory since the end of August, though they maintain their unbeaten MKM Stadium record.
Stroud was back in the side for his first start since the 2-2 draw at Chelsea last month, operating on the left in tandem with Ryan Giles, and delivered a solid display against a Brentford outfit that suffered their first defeat last weekend against Liverpool, having seen two players sent off.
The Swedish international didn't get on the pitch at Fulham last weekend, but said the talk in the week building up to Brentford was of the need to produce a response, and boss Sergej Jakirovic certainly got that.

"Of course, we wanted more of the game, and I think that we had our chances to get something more out of the game. Right now, we just feel like we lost two points, so it's a little bit disappointing," Stroud told Hull Live.
"We spoke about it the whole week, and, coming into the game, that's the most important thing we focused on, which was the energy that we had in the first couple of games, and that's what led to the good results as well.
"We were just trying to get back to that, and I think everyone, in and around the club, knew that it wasn't good enough last week, so it was nice to feel the same in the first half as we did in the first couple of games."
Brentford are a strong, physical side and has been going well. Stroud says they provided a very different test to Fulham at Craven Cottage, but felt City dealt with their threats well in what were difficult conditions owing to the weather.
"It's hard to say," he continued when asked about the challenge the Bees pose compared to Fulham. "It's a different opponent and a different style of play, but I think we were just more aggressive and, yeah, took the duels. We didn't win many duels last week, but first ball, second ball, we were there this week. If you're gonna come here (to the MKM Stadium) and play, it's gonna be hard, and you're gonna feel us.
"They're heavy, they're good on set pieces, long throw-ins, and good in the boxes. Defending their own box and attacking our box as well. We managed it well. When we won the ball, sometimes from first and second balls and balls we had a lot of area to play in, and I think we did that well, but also, we could have done better."
Winning games in the Premier League is hard, and City are finding that, but they're also proving extremely hard to beat and continue to keep their points tally ticking over, which Stroud says is vitally important and a message echoed by Jakirovic.
"The gaffer always says we take one point (and move on), but of course, after this game and the chances we had both in the first half and towards the end of the second half, it's disappointing to come away with only one point. It's a tough league, and every point matters."
