In his first game with the Houston Texans during Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston’s new wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. played on 19 snaps and finished the game with three receptions for 34 yards.
For Houston’s Week 7 game against the New York Giants, Harrison Jr is expected to get more reps. Texans head coach, DeMeco Ryans, said he has picked up the offense well and the coaches feel comfortable putting him in different positions on the offense.
“However many he can handle. Yes, I expect Marvin, his workload to continue to increase. I think he got a little bit under 15 reps in the game on Sunday and he handled all those really well, did a really great job. He'll continue to get more,” Ryans said. “One thing I see, Marvin is a very smart guy. He's picked up things very seamlessly and he's moving around a lot of different places on our offense. Our coaches can put him in a lot of different spots and he's handled himself really well. He'll get more workload.”
This will actually be Harrison Jr’s second time playing against the Giants this season as his last game with the Arizona Cardinals before being traded to Houston was against New York. In that game, he played 65.2 percent of the offensive snaps but was only targeted four times and had one reception for 12 yards.
That game also happened to be the only time he scored a touchdown this season. The Texans would love to see him find the end zone in this game as well.
