UFC lightweight Michael Chandler is a big fan of professional wrestling and periodically pops up on WWE programming.
His latest appearance took place under the promotion’s NXT banner, where Chandler served as the “special enforcer” between Dion Lennox and Cruz Montana. “Iron” took exception to the use of handcuffs in the corner of the ring and tried to intervene.
He got two-handed through the ropes instead.
WWE and UFC are owned by the same parent company, TKO Group Holdings, Inc.
The 40-year-old Chandler (23-11) has been absolutely dreadful over the last few years, losing four straight and six of eight dating back to his UFC debut in early 2021 — getting finished in four of those six losses. On the flip side, he’s won five post-fight performance bonuses during that stretch, including three “Fight of the Night” honors.
Whether or not Chandler transitions to pro wrestling full time remains to be seen.
