An amputee football match erupted into a brutal brawl as players ‘swung their crutches like swords’. The violent clash unfolded at the end of a tense penalty shootout when tempers finally reached boiling point and all hell broke loose on the pitch.
A player missed a crucial spot-kick and rivals immediately ran into the penalty box to celebrate and goad their dejected opponent. Punches, kicks and swinging crutches turned the pitch into a battlefield as the melee spiralled out of control.
The match took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as local side Los Teros de Córdoba hosted Uruguay’s Rampla Juniors in a fiercely contested amateur bout between the South American rivals.

Earlier in the game, a sliding tackle on a grounded opponent had already triggered insults and an angry backlash. That flashpoint led to both captains being sent off as the match continued under a cloud of rising tension.
Throughout the contest, one side faced constant taunts and invitations to fight from the opposition, as reported by creatorzine.com.
Rampla Juniors officials later condemned the violence in a strongly worded statement released on social media. “We want to make something very clear: we didn't travel to Argentina to fight,” the statement said.
They stressed they had travelled purely to play football after months of fundraising and sacrifice. In a statement, the club said they believe in the sport as a force for inclusion, respect and opportunity.
They formally recorded the violence and demanded a serious investigation so that similar incidents don’t happen again. The statement concluded: “Violence does not represent us. Football, inclusion, and camaraderie do.”
No official response has yet emerged from the Argentine side or tournament organisers.
