The attacker has been used in a more central position by Rob Elliot in recent weeks.
And, ahead of the Blues’ trip to Solihull Moors, Ajiboye says he has been more than happy to be asked to adapt to it again.
“I haven't played up top since I was probably a teenager, but I've played a lot of games there when I was younger and a few games as an adult in the senior teams,” said Ajiboye, who has been more accustomed to playing wide in recent years.
“I've enjoyed it, I've enjoyed it a lot.
“Wherever I am on the pitch, I think in this system it's just enjoyable to play, so it's just the fact of producing and keeping that spot for myself as well and staying in the team.
“[In terms of adapting to the position] I think it's just a bit of muscle memory, really. Once you're in those positions, it's kind of just triggering, ‘Oh yeah, I've been here before’
“I don't think it's taken too much to get used to now.”
Ajiboye is hoping to return to the Blues side at Solihull as Elliot’s team target a third straight away win and a fifth game unbeaten.
The 28-year-old says United’s unity has been on show in their spell of better results following the 5-2 defeat to Woking last month.
“Everyone’s just been together,” he told the News & Star.
“I'm not saying we weren't together before, but I think everyone's dug in a bit more.

“With the bad results that we've had, it's given a bit more incentive for everyone to do well, be together and work that extra bit harder.
“I think it's important that we keep that as a minimum.”
Ajiboye says Carlisle cannot afford to look too far ahead as they try to continue making progress in the National League.
“You've just got to take it one game at a time,” he said. “Solihull first, look to get three points, then the next game during the week [against Harrogate Town], look to get three points and build on that.
“A run of three games winning in a row will get you up the table, but I think we can't look too far ahead.”
Ajiboye says extra ruthlessness in front of goal will help Carlisle make the most of games such as the clash with second-bottom Solihull.
“We create a lot of chances and we just need to at least put away half of them,” he said.
“If can do that I don't think we'll have any issues
“The last few games and results has got to be our minimum, performance-wise and results-wise, just to keep building.”
The former Sutton United and Peterborough United man, meanwhile, says he feels there is more to come from him individual in 2026/27.
“It’s been ok,” he said of his own form. “There have been good performances, but I think I could have produced more in terms of the final product with goals and assists.
“But I think that will eventually come. In the last few games I've got a few goals and assists, so I just want to continue and build on that.”
