Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao believes he faced one man who was more skilled than Floyd Mayweather during his glittering career.

‘PacMan’ remains the most decorated fighter in boxing history, winning multiple world titles across eight separate weight divisions during his tenure.

Pacquiao proved to be a dominant force throughout the 2000s and 2010s, defeating the likes of Erik Morales, Ricky Hatton, Marco Antonio Barrera and Oscar De La Hoya during this period.

Perhaps the most memorable moment of his career came in May 2015 when he faced long-term rival Mayweather in a monumental world welterweight title unification clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The bout failed to live up to expectations however as Mayweather cruised to a wide unanimous decision win over Pacquiao to unify the WBC, WBA and WBO welterweight titles at the conclusion of the ‘Fight of The Century’.

In a feature with The Ring Magazine, Pacquiao shunned Mayweather when revealing the most skilled opponent he ever faced, naming none other than Mexican great Juan Manuel Marquez.

“He is the only fighter who really could figure me out and anticipate my moves. He is a brilliant counterpuncher and a tremendous warrior.”

Pacquiao and Marquez faced each other four times during their respective careers, producing one of the most memorable fight series’ that the sport has ever seen.

Whilst Pacquiao got the better of Marquez on two occasions, many believe ‘Dynamite’ had the last laugh when he produced a sensational knockout over the eight-division world champion in their fourth and final battle in December of 2012.
