Hopes for Jamal Musiala’s return in the Bundesliga classic against Borussia Dortmund have been dashed. The FC Bayern forward will not be in the lineup on Saturday. Although his recovery from injury is progressing well, the Munich club does not want to take any risks with one of its key players.

As reported by Sky, in addition to Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala will definitely miss the match against Borussia Dortmund. Although the 22-year-old is working toward his return, playing in this match would be too soon based on the current situation.

Team officials have apparently agreed to reintegrate the playmaker into the squad with particular caution. The Derby also comes too soon for Manuel Neuer, as assistant coach Aaron Danks confirmed at the press conference.

The match against Atlético is also likely to come too soon

A return for Musiala to the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League match at Atlético Madrid is also unrealistic. Musiala is therefore expected to miss Munich’s next important match as well. For FC Bayern, the priority in his rehabilitation is not a return as soon as possible, but a full recovery.

In addition to Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala will also not be fit in time for the “Klassiker.” His injury is healing well, but a return to the roster comes too soon and is also unrealistic for Tuesday’s Champions League match at Atlético Madrid. The positive progress with his injury is nevertheless a good sign. However, it remains unclear when Musiala will once again be an option for Bayern. The Munich club doesn’t want to rush things with their star forward and is determined to avoid a setback caused by a premature return.

For the classic match against Dortmund, this decision means another personnel setback. In addition to Manuel Neuer, Musiala will also be sidelined. The German national team player will have to be patient a little longer before he can take the field again. The clear stance from the club’s leadership: Musiala will only return to the roster once he is fully ready.
