Leeds United have some wonderful players. Daniel Farke has helped build this side into a real Premier League force again, but of all of Leeds’ stars, Leeds fans are desperate not to lose two.
Daniel Farke might be under some increasing pressure, but the truth is, Leeds have improved. The same nine fixtures last season saw Leeds pick up just eight points. This season, Leeds have accumulated 11.
A large part of that is because of the squad Leeds have built. But there are two standout players in this squad, according to Leeds fans. Now, those fans have discussed which is more important to keep on side.
James Trafford, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor, Jayden Bogle, James Justin; all players who have become indispensable for Leeds under the guidance of Farke. But this season, two players stand tallest.
But Ethan Ampadu and Tarik Muharemovic are at the top of the list. Ampadu is the skipper, the backbone of this Leeds side, the first name on the team sheet, and if he could play every single minute, he would.

I think Ampadu is easily Leeds’ most important player. Not just because of his ability on the pitch, but also off it. A great leader that is clearly creating a good culture at Thorp Arch

Muharemovic is literally playing every single minute. The Bosnian has not missed a single minute of any of Leeds’ 11 games in all competitions. Almost immediately, Muharemovic has become crucial for Leeds.
Already, Muharemovic is being linked with a £60m exit. Clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool are keen. One fan said on TalkingPoints that Muharemovic is set to go.

I’ve already made peace with the fact he won’t be playing for us next season. He is too good!!

Another factor to consider is that Muharemovic is only 23 and turns 24 in February. Ampadu has just turned 26 this season. Albeit small, Muharemovic has age on his side and has experienced fewer injuries.
Throughout his career, Ampadu has missed 74 games for club and country due to injury, according to TransferMarkt. A total of 25 for Leeds. Muharemovic, though, has only missed 42 throughout his career.

True, but feel they could get £80m for him by next summer. £60m in this market isn’t amazing

The fact of the matter is, Muharemovic’s price tag is going to go up quicker than Ampadu’s. On paper, keeping Muharemovic could see Leeds rake in a bigger fee. One fan predicts a possible £80m sale.
Losing Muharemovic would be a blow, but his value will grow higher than Ampadu’s, and with that cash, as one fan on TalkingPoints explains, Leeds could replace him. Leeds cannot replace what Ampadu brings.

I don’t think so, because of the size of the fee they’d probably get for him. For £60m, you can find the next Muharemovic with some cash left over

Ampadu is the heart and soul of this Leeds side. He is the blood, the author of the family feel that has been so carefully crafted. He is a 46-year-old in a 26-year-old’s body, but plays like every game is his last.
He embodies exactly what it means to be a Leeds player. To other clubs, he might be a £60m player. But to Leeds, he is priceless. Lose Ampadu, and Leeds lose any hope of establishing themselves in the top tier.
