Thirty-nine members of Grantham Running Club headed to Peterborough for the AEPG Great Eastern Half Marathon, with a mix of goals, ambitions and running styles on display.
Conditions were almost perfect for racing, although the glorious sunshine soon started to make things feel a little warmer than expected.
For some, the plan was to take it easy, enjoy the atmosphere and have a leisurely plod around the course.
Others had trained specifically for the event and were ready to give it everything, chasing those all-important personal bests.
There were also several tackling the half-marathon distance as a race for the very first time which was a fantastic achievement in itself.
Congratulations to Nick Thorpe, Christine Sawyer and Gillian Cardus on their half marathon debuts.
Leading the Grantham runners home were Sam Jepson and Catherine Payne, both putting in strong performances for the club.
The club had plenty to celebrate on the day with nine members earning themselves new personal bests.
Congratulations to Russell Maksymiw, Addelle Pattison, Jaimie Lord, Niall Ó Faoláin, David Amos-Reeves, Chloe Amos-Reeves, Jessica Guest, Rhys Nicholls and Corrine Clack.
Whether it was chasing the personal best, conquering the distance or simply enjoying a Sunday morning run in the sunshine, it was another brilliant day of running.
The race itself was won by Julian Moynihan of Ely Runners in 1:05:20, with the women's race won by Meg Gadsby of City of Norwich AC, in 1:14:00.
