Longford Park Football Club has announced the immediate withdrawal and closure of its Banbury District & Lord Jersey Men’s A Team, citing repeated breaches of club rules, non-payment of fees and poor conduct.
The decision, described by the club as final and effective immediately, follows several incidents that the committee said undermined the standards expected of players and officials.
In a statement, the club said: "It is with genuine regret that the club committee confirms its difficult decision to withdraw and fold the Banbury District & Lord Jersey Men’s A Team with immediate effect.

"This decision has not been taken lightly. The committee has considered the position carefully and has concluded that the team can no longer continue because of repeated breaches of club rules, the non-payment of fees and unacceptable standards of conduct and discipline towards the club. These matters have undermined the standards expected of every player and officials representing the club."
Longford Park FC said it recognised the disappointment the decision would cause to those who supported the team and acted responsibly, but emphasised that the committee had a duty to protect the club and uphold its rules.
The club said it had informed both the Oxfordshire Football Association and the relevant league committee, and would fully cooperate with any resulting administrative or disciplinary processes.
Players who owe money will receive a formal 21-day debt-recovery notice, issued through the applicable Oxfordshire FA process, the committee said.
The club warned that failure to pay may result in further recovery action and football-related sanctions, as permitted under the rules.
The committee also requested the immediate return of all club property, including kit, equipment, keys, and documents.
It warned that no person is authorised to retain, use, dispose of, or pass on club property, and urged anyone in possession of items to contact the club committee without delay.
The statement said: "We appreciate that this is a serious and regrettable outcome.
"However, the club’s rules, financial obligations and expected standards of conduct apply equally to everyone, and they must be respected.
"The committee’s decision is final."
The club said that no fixtures, training sessions, registrations, financial commitments, or other activities may be arranged or undertaken in the name of the team or the club without the committee’s prior written authority.
Communications regarding outstanding fees or the return of club property should be directed to the club committee through official contact channels.
Oxfordshire FA has been approached for further comment.
