The Denver Broncos have dealt with many running back injuries this season. Their most recent injury is to running back RJ Harvey, who was placed on short-term injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in practice.
Harvey had been an emerging talent for the Broncos. While he has only 87 rushing yards and 3.6 yards per attempt, he has 25 receptions for 217 yards and a touchdown, both of which are second for Denver, behind only Jaylen Waddle.
Now that he is on IR, Harvey will miss the Broncos’ games against the Kansas City Chiefs, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be eligible to return for their first game in December against the Miami Dolphins.
With Harvey out, Denver’s primary backup running backs are J.K. Dobbins, the team’s leading rusher with 293 yards and three touchdowns through the first seven games, and rookie Jonah Coleman, who has played in only three of the first seven games.
