Former Leigh Leopards back Will Brough has secured a new club after departing the Super League side with a switch to the NRL now confirmed.
Brough, the son of Super League legend Danny, left Leigh Leopards late in the 2026 season with the versatile back afforded an opportunity with Goole Vikings.
However, he will be plying his trade in Australia from 2027 onwards after securing a move to the Gold Coast Titans, according to Brough’s management company Nova Sports.
The 20-year-old made just one first-team appearance for Leigh after joining the Leopards ahead of the 2025 campaign, with that appearance coming early in the 2026 season.
Instead, he played eight games out on loan at Halifax, one at Salford, and one at Goole after his Leapards’ release, but he’ll now head down under to represent the Titans.
Posting on Instagram, Brough’s management Nova Sports shared the news of his Australian switch, with the versatile back set for a major opportunity.
Nova Sports announced: “Congratulations to William Brough on signing with the Gold Coast Titans!
“Bringing valuable Super League experience and a strong foundation from his time in the UK, William will be a great addition to the Titans programme.
“A significant commitment and sacrifice in relocating from the UK to Australia, embracing a new environment and taking the next step in his development. An opportunity that reflects his ambition, determination and willingness to challenge himself.
“Excited to see William embrace this next chapter and make the most of the opportunities ahead.”
Gold Coast currently have some significant English connections with England full-back AJ Brimson playing his club rugby at the Titans, whilst England head coach Brian McDermott is an assistant on the Gold Coast.
In his 13 senior appearances, Brough has a total of three tries and 13 goal kicks, leaving him some way short of his father who racked up an incredible 2,462 points in Super League – the second-most of any player in competition history.
