Luis Hernandez’s rapid ascent in the UFC has continued via the golden arches.

On September 15, Hernandez earned his spot on the UFC roster by submitting Hugo Guillon on the Contender Series.

Many fans will have already been familiar with him due to Sean Strickland’s in-cage altercation with Hernandez that led to the current middleweight champion being suspended last year.

The 30-year-old fighter and Florida police officer has already had a whirlwind start to life in the UFC, but McDonald’s of all places has taken that up another notch.

Who is the most promising prospect on the UFC roster? 🤔

Luis Hernandez’s manager announces first ever UFC fighter McDonald’s sponsorship

Luis Hernandez doesn’t intend on giving up his police officer role despite now being signed to the UFC roster.

The American middleweight already had two income streams, but it was recently announced that he’s added another in the form of a first-of-its-kind sponsorship.

A UFC fighter partnering with McDonald’s isn’t something that many would have predicted, especially for a member of the roster who made his debut less than a month ago.

However, that’s exactly what happened, with Hernandez’s manager posting a photo of the fighter holding up his contract on Instagram.

“Happy meal, happy deal!!! First ever deal done by McDonald’s and a UFC fighter in the history of combat sports,” Malki Kawa, CEO of First Round Management, wrote. “Congrats Luis Hernandez on continuing to raise the bar in such a short period of time!”

Hernandez made his Octagon debut on September 26 in Las Vegas, submitting Sedriques Dumas in just 57 seconds to get the win.

His standing guillotine choke finish also earned him a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus after he extended his pro record to 8-0 and maintained his 100% finish rate.

Remarkably, Hernandez even has a three-second head kick knockout win on his record.

He hasn’t commented on the partnership yet having collaborated on the Instagram post with his manager, though he did post a GIF of Ronald McDonald in the replies.
