The Carabao Cup quarter-finals will be held on the week commencing Monday, December 14, with games likely to take place on the Tuesday and Wednesday of that week.
For Newcastle, that falls between fixtures at Ipswich Town on Saturday, December 12 and Brentford on December 19, so another away tie would three games on the road in the space of a week.
