Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor's return to the field was short-lived.
Taylor left the Bulldogs' game against Oklahoma in the first half after appearing to aggravate a right foot injury that caused him to miss Mississippi State's blowout loss to LSU in Week 7.
Taylor officially entered Saturday's game as questionable on MSU's injury report, but ESPN reported Friday that the QB would attempt to play. Taylor first suffered the injury in Mississippi State's Week 4 win over Missouri before leaving the Bulldogs' loss to Alabama early.
Over four possessions against Oklahoma, Taylor was 2-of-5 for 10 yards and lost 12 yards on three rushing attempts.
The sophomore was one of the breakout stars of the early weeks of the season. Taylor threw 14 TD passes over MSU's first four games of the season as the Bulldogs started 4-0 with wins over Minnesota, South Carolina and Mizzou. He also rushed for 178 yards over the first three weeks of the season before the injury significantly hampered his mobility.
Freshman Parker Puckett replaced Taylor against Oklahoma and started in his place against LSU. In the 31-0 loss to the Tigers, Puckett was 16-of-26 for 121 yards and an interception.
