Cole Palmer may have just put in his worst-ever performance in a Chelsea shirt following his side’s 2-0 loss to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Chelsea were utterly outplayed throughout the 90 minutes but looked like they could hold on and possibly even take advantage of a Tottenham mistake. However, if that was their plan, it went completely out of the window in the 77th minute.
Mike Penders scored an own goal before conceding again to Mathys Tel 10 minutes later. With the shot aimed at his near post, the young goalkeeper should have done better.

Chelsea's winning streak against Spurs is OVER! Why did the London derby go so badly? What did Xabi Alonso get wrong?
Ultimately, Penders has failed his first real audition following Emiliano Martinez’s injury. However, he was not the only Chelsea player to have a poor game.
Palmer really disappointed and finished his underwhelming display with a red card. As a result of that sending off and his overall display, the attacking midfielder received a 5.08 rating on WhoScored, the lowest in his entire senior career.
Palmer was pretty sharp at the start of the season, but he has not scored in the Premier League since his goal against Brighton & Hove Albion in August. In total, the 24-year-old has scored two goals in eight top-flight appearances this term.
Before the game, Morgan Rogers sent out a warning about Palmer and the rest of Chelsea’s front three, which includes himself. However, neither Palmer nor Rogers could have any impact on the game, while Joao Pedro missed the match because of an injury.
