The 66-year-old is widely-regarded as the greatest darts player of all time, having won 16 World Championship titles and 87 major titles in total.
But in recent times, Luke Littler has stepped up to the oche to dominate the sport in a somewhat similar fashion to Taylor.
At just 19 years old, 'The Nuke' already has two consecutive World Championship titles to his name.
That has had many darts fans wondering who would actually win in a meeting between the two?
And while getting prime Phil Taylor to face current Luke Littler is impossible, Taylor humbly admitted that, in his current form, he wouldn't be victorious.
The darts icon was in Flintshire last week to visit the Ace of Sports facility in Mold, as he is set to become an ambassador of the darts academy that is being set up there before Christmas.
Ahead of that, Taylor is also returning to professional darts for the first time in eight years.
He is coming out of retirement to play alongside Adrian Lewis in the MODUS Super Series International Pairs tournament in Portsmouth from November 23 to 28.
When The Leader asked him about his return to the sport, Taylor said: "I'm not excited about it no, I'm retired.
"But, I'm looking forward to it and we'll have a bit of fun me and Aidy (Adrian Lewis). It's not the be all and end all of everything."
He added: "I'm not the same player as I used to be. So, everybody thinks I'm going to be bashing Luke Littler up, but it's never going to happen, not now.
"Maybe when I was younger, I'd have given him a good game but now I'm just enjoying my retirement."
