AC Milan are not on the verge of hiring Markus Krösche, contrary to reports, but the role is one that appeals to him.
Since it was announced on Sunday that Krösche has departed his role at Eintracht Frankfurt, rumours have once again gone into overdrive regarding his potential arrival at Milan. The Rossoneri pursued him in the summer, but the German club put up a wall of resistance.
There has even been talk that the German director is planning for the winter transfer window, with a central defender being the main priority given Matteo Gabbia’s injury.
Now, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany has provided an update on where things stand on his X account. As a reminder, he was the one who pumped the brakes on the story earlier in the week.
“Markus Krösche and AC Milan have been in contact. New talks are planned. As of now, there is no agreement in place. No advanced negotiations between Krösche/Milan either, despite other reports this week. No negotiations between the clubs yet.
“A fee of €5-7m would be required due to a new release clause, as revealed. Krösche is planning to take a short break first. A fresh start from January is possible. Milan project appeals to him.”
