A year ago to the day was a shocking date in New York Jets history.
Those trades went down.
Now 365 days removed, feelings about it might be much different. At the time, it was uncertainty as New York general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn decided to trade cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, respectively.
With the way the Colts and Cowboys seasons are both going, the returns now look amazing for the Jets.
For Gardner, New York acquired a 2026 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. For Williams, the Jets landed and first rounder in 2027, a second rounder and defensive tackle Mazi Smith--who is no longer with the team.
All in all, that draft capital has outweigh anything lost. It still remains to be seen what happens with Jets leadership, namely Glenn, but those deals look smart.
