Bukayo Saka’s injury early on in the game at Bayern Munich has very much put a blot on what was otherwise a fine night for Arsenal.
The Gunners once again proved they’re very much up to matching the elite in Europe by first going ahead and then coming from behind to take a point away from Germany in a hard fought battle.
Despite the good point and performance in general, the injury to Saka just ten minutes into the game is a worrying one.

Arsenal claim a point away to Bayern! What is your reaction to that performance? 🤔
Saka appeared to pull with a thigh issue after playing the ball and with little known on just how bad it was, Arsenal fans are left on edge after seeing him get replaced.
However, while it could be a decent spell out for Saka, all is not lost and instead, it could be a short period out too.
A thigh problem is never ideal, for any player. Not least a winger who relies on quick changes of direction and shifts in power in order to move past players.
Quite what the result of any scans for Saka will be, remain to be seen. But for now, the popular and respected X account, @PhysioScout, has suggested good and bad news.
Bukayo Saka had to come off after suffering a left quad/hip flexor injury in Arsenal’s clash vs. Bayern. It occurred after a forceful kicking motion while attempting to switch play to the opposite side of the pitch. Minor quad/hip flexor strains generally have favourable recovery timelines, although the forceful mechanism raises concerns about a potentially more significant tear. Potential Recovery Times: Grade 1: 1-3 weeks Grade 2-3: Multi-week absence (6+ weeks) Scans will be necessary to determine the extent of the injury. Let’s hope for a good result. #AFC #Arsenal #UCL #Bayern #FPL #FPLCommunity

Of course, the six week injury or more is the absolute nightmare scenario for Saka and Arsenal here. As would a torn quadricep be. On first glance, it wouldn’t appear to be that serious though.
However, this is still bad timing for the Gunners. With Christos Tzolis out injured on the opposite side and Andrea Berta failing to land a new winger in the summer, Arsenal’s options out wide suddenly look weak.
With this one, the Gunners will be hoping Saka’s problem is only short-term. If not, then it could well be a huge problem for the club and derail their title chances.
