Floyd Mayweather will return to the ring for an exhibition fight against Australian Matty Floyd, the 49-year-old has announced.
The fight is set to be held in Bangkok, Thailand on Dec. 19. No broadcaster has been confirmed.
Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) made the announcement on social media on Sunday and teased a full return against WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia in 2027.
"This a lil tune up before me and Ryan lock up," he said.
Garcia has been pushing a potential fight against Mayweather on his own social media platforms and insisted he is serious about the prospect of fighting the former five division champion.
Garcia has said he has been in talks with Mayweather but insisted he will fight in February "regardless."
Garcia won the WBC 147-pound title -- which Mayweather first claimed in 2006 -- in February, beating Mario Barrios. The 28-year-old then defended it for the first time in September with a round two stoppage of Conor Benn.
Mayweather retired in 2017 following his knockout win over UFC star Conor McGregor and has not fought a non-exhibition bout since.
In February, it was announced he would fight Manny Pacquiao in a rematch on Netflix in Las Vegas on Sept. 19, but the fight never happened. Mayweather and Pacquiao first fought in 2015, with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision. Mayweather had also agreed to an exhibition fight against Mike Tyson, which never took place.
