Arsenal legend Alan Smith is expecting his former club to secure a comfortable victory when they take on Everton this weekend.
The Gunners are still unbeaten at home, having won their first three Premier League fixtures at the Emirates, and speaking exclusively to Gooner News (courtesy of Best Betting Sites UK), Smith said:
“I’ll go 2-0 to Arsenal.”
The Premier League champions could go level on points with leaders Manchester City if Enzo Maresca’s team lose to Aston Villa earlier in the day.
The Gunners are expected to be without Bukayo Saka, who sustained a quad injury in the opening 10 minutes of the 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Piero Hincapie is back in light training after recovering from an ankle injury, and Arteta has said that there is an outside chance that the Ecuadorian international could make the matchday squad for the Everton game.
Christos Tzolis (hamstring) and William Saliba (back) are, though, still some way off from returning to first-team action.
Everton, meanwhile, have no fitness concerns whatsoever heading into the fixture, with manager David Moyes having a full squad available to him. With the Toffees also having a full week’s preparation for the match, having last played against Chelsea last Saturday, it means they will come to the Emirates very well prepared. In contrast, Arsenal have travelled back from Munich with 3 days’ preparation.
With Arsenal being at home, Arteta’s men are heavily favoured to take all three points. Bookmakers are pricing them between 4/9 and 2/5 odds-on to secure victory
A draw is currently priced between 10/3 and 4/1, while a surprise win for the visitors has odds as long as 15/2. It looks like most people are backing the Gunners to make it 7 wins out of 8 league matches this season.
